Educational Webinar: “Neurodivergence in Breastfeeding & Parenting”

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Explain several key characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD

  2. Explain how sensory issues may cause challenges for both the lactating parent and baby,

  3. List 3 strategies for assisting patients/clients struggling with sensory overwhelm due to infant care and/or breastfeeding

Speaker: Dr. Rachel Freund

Dr. Freund’s background is in Family Medicine but she found her true passion in the second phase of her career, when difficulties breastfeeding her third child introduced her to the field of Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine. Since 2024, she has been a moderator for “Dr. Milk” (an international Facebook community supporting physicians with breastfeeding challenges) and is currently pursuing her IBCLC and board-certification in Breastfeeding Medicine. Dr. Freund loves teaching, especially about that fascinating but neglected organ – the breast!
